Futures
Futures are standardized contracts for the purchase or sale of a certain underlying asset (financial or commodity) at a pre-agreed price and on a pre-specified date (futures maturity). Each individual futures contract contains a certain amount of the underlying asset. It can be an index, oil, gold, corn, etc.
